The Franschhoek Sport & Social Club (FSSC) is a specialist sports and lifestyle management company dedicated to the professionalization and revitalization of heritage sporting assets. Established by founders and valley residents Rob and Kate Walker, FSSC was created to bridge the gap between historic tradition and modern operational excellence.
Today, the team handles the daily operations, strategic revitalization, and commercial management of the club with a focus on ensuring an authentic, sustainable experience for all. Together with their dedicated team, they are committed to ensuring Groot Drak remains the Heart of the Valley—a place where the next generation of families can build their own sporting stories.

Beyond the daily operations, the Groot Drakenstein Games Club is guided by dedicated volunteers who serve as The Custodians of Our Tradition. These individuals are long-standing members of the club who donate their time and expertise to uphold the Constitution and promote sporting excellence.
As the vital link to the Trustees of Groot Drak, they ensure that every strategic step forward remains anchored in our historic foundations, safeguarding the "Spirit of the Game" for future generations.

Sports Committee
The Sports Committee is responsible for the pulse of the club—maintaining the "Spirit of the Game" from the first ball bowled to the final match under the lights. Chaired by the Head of Sport, this body ensures that our competitive drive is balanced with the social camaraderie that defines Groot Drak.
Through a structured nomination process and annual election at our AGM, we empower leaders who represent the interests of every player. ​​​​​​​​​
The Club Cricket Captain serves as the primary cricket representative of the Club and the FCA Captain. As the Chair of the Cricket Sub-Committee, they oversee the coordination of all teams and ensure the high standards of the Pickstone Oval are upheld. All subsequent captains and representatives report through this central role to ensure a unified approach to our season.
The Club Cricket Captain holds a seat on the Club Committee.
