Please join us on Sunday the 2nd of February 2020 for the annual Groot Drakenstein Games Club Six-A-Side cricket tournament, where several top teams from around the Western Cape will battle it out for the coveted John Faure Trophy.
After a massively successful competition last year, we are expecting an even bigger and better one in 2020. We have another star-studded celebrity side taking part this year, who will be doing their best to wrestle the trophy away from current title-holders, Maties. The celebrity side includes; Louis Koen, Johann Louw, Reuben Riffel, Frikkie Welsh and Whackhead Simpson to name just a few!
There will be several food stalls, craft beer stands and plenty of action for the whole family, not to mention the fast-paced cricket on offer! The pool will be open for the kids to enjoy, while the adults can chill out under the trees and occasionally take advantage of the club’s historic bar. There will be an incredibly valuable raffle prize available for one lucky spectator to walk away with at the end of the day.
The action will kick-off at 09h00 and entry is completely free – no bookings required. Come and watch some captivating cricket on South Africa’s oldest turf wicket in the most picturesque setting you could imagine. The club is situated just outside of Franschhoek and is about a 45 minute drive from Cape Town.
